Can I offset my sales tax when I buy and sale vechicles at the same time?

I paid sales tax when I purchased a car from the dealer. Since i also sold my old car shortly before, can I offset the sales tax on the new car by the sale value for my old car? If yes, what form should I use to get the reimbursement?

1. The only way to do that is to take what you got for the old car, deposit it in the bank, and write a check for the sales tax on the new car. There is no mechanism in law to do what you want to do.
