Old Cars For Sale

Is it possible to trade in 2 old cars for credit at a Toyota dealership for a future sale later in the year?

I have 2 old cars in the driveway that we don't really use. A 1990 Acura Integra and a 1992 Toyota Corolla. Both are on their way out and yet still in somewhat good physical condition for their ages. Would a Toyota dealership take them off our hands and give us credit for the sale of a future car? Do dealerships do things like this? We're looking to get a Toyota minivan but not this instant. But the cars are just sitting there barely being used. We're tired of getting them fixed every 6 months or so.

  1. It's not something a dealer would do or I would recommend because of all the dealerships that are going out of business. I would just put them on Ebay or Craig's list and sell them and put the money in a savings account until you are ready to buy a new car.
  2. yes but they'll give you almost nothing for them. You'll be luck if you get 1000 each for the cars. I recently traded in a 93 740iL and a 99 Chevy Astro for a mini cooper, I got 2000 for the BMW and 1900 for the Chey. You have to buy the new car when you trade in your old cars though. If you want to get rid of your cars try car max, if they pass inspection they will give you auction price which is generally higher than trade-in value. They will give you cash even if you don't buy one of their cars. They have to pass their inspection which is almost an hour long.
  3. they wont do that !!!
  4. you'll get more money if you sell it to someone. i bet you there will be people looking for an acura integra to fix up. and people might be looking for the corolla as a first time car.
