Going to sale my old car need advice....please?

I want to sale my old car, its a 98 Mazda, going to sale it for $700.00.. The registration has passed and it needs to be inspected. The car runs just but needs the distributor so it can pass inspection. It will be an as it deal. What do I need to know in order to sale it, also when the buyer takes possession of the car will I be liable until he/she gets it titled in their name. Thanks to all I live in Texas, Blue book value is $1898.00

  2. If you fixed it you could sell it for more. Plus you didn't say where you were at for us to see this quality automobile.
  3. I think once you sign the back of the title you should be OK, try looking up the tax office or TDPS, you can always find information there
  4. First of all the word is SELL not SALE. You want to SELL your car. Get the distributor fixed before trying to sell the car. A small repair like this will add value to the car. Selling it broken will devalue the car much more than the price it takes to fix it. When you find a buyer you need to (first of all) accept cash only. Nothing else but cash. Cash or no sale. Cash. Did I say that enough? Cash only. Write up a Bill of Sale. Make sure you specify the car is sold as is with no warranty and no return or refunds of any kind. and have both the seller and buyer sign it. Once you sign over the title, the car is no longer yours and you have no liability what so ever.
