1. Since 1980, the tenth (10th) digit of the vehicle identification number (VIN) indicates the year model of the vehicle dependent upon a code system. This system does not apply to vehicle manufactured prior to 1980, however. If you can provide the identifier number or letter, and the vehicle was manufactured after 1980, I can advise you as to the age of that vehicle
